About Colin Bailey

Colin Bailey is a dedicated public servant and national security expert. He possesses a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed in all of his endeavors. His professional contributions to counterterrorism, intelligence collection, and rule of law efforts abroad have had a significant positive impact on U.S. national security at home and abroad. Mr. Bailey currently serves as the Department of Justice's Program Manager for foreign prosecutorial capacity-building efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. His focus is on developing foreign partner capacity to effectively investigate, prosecute, and adjudicate transnational crime and criminal organizations, including terrorist organizations, that potentially threaten the United States and its allies. Prior to serving with OPDAT, Mr. Bailey spent over seven years in the United States Army, including two years in Iraq. He served primarily as a human intelligence collector. Mr. Bailey worked in a fast-paced, mission-driven, and highly collaborative interagency environment. His collection and management efforts led directly to the capture of senior terrorist leaders in Iraq and the dramatic improvement in Iraq's post-surge security environment. Mr. Bailey obtained a B.S. in Policy Studies from Indiana University Purdue University - Indianapolis in 2014. He graduated from Georgetown University's prestigious Security Studies Program in 2017. In December 2017, he was selected to be a Class of 2018 Presidential Management Fellowship finalist.
