About Colin Bryden

2017 Master of Science (Earth Sciences)+ Research, Analysis, Field, and Laboratory Experience + Confident Communication and Clear Reporting Skills = Professionalism, Commitment, and Drive to Succeed Coordinating and completing an overseas research project, conducting laboratory analyses, and writing and presenting reports have prepared me to use my technical and communication skills in a new professional role. Throughout university and in academic support positions I have transformed information and raw data into meaningful conclusions which facilitate decision making. When the desire to learn new technical skills led me to a certificate in GIS Data Management from SAIT, I saw firsthand how database creation, analysis, and reporting can lead to discoveries, correlations, and decisions that shape future projects. Complementing my Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees, this technical certificate rounds out my education and skills as an emerging analyst and scientist. Another academic highlight was defending my M.Sc. Thesis entitled “Stable Isotope Geochemistry and Geochronology of Scapolite-Bearing Pegmatites in Nordoyane, Western Gneiss Region, Norway.” Traveling to Norway for six weeks, collaborating with team members, examining samples, and defending my thesis led to presentation and publication at industry events. Currently, I am also working to publish my research as a journal article.
