About Colin McCubbin

Passionate WASH specialist, advisor and consultant with over 30 years’ experience in Water supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene promotion (WASH) across 30+ low and middle-income countries throughout Africa, Asia, Middle East, and the Caribbean. I thrive on providing strategic and technical guidance to build the capacity of field- and office-based teams as well as collaborating with other departments, senior leadership, and governing authorities. Experienced in multi-sectoral projects (WASH as relating to Health and Health Facilities, Nutrition, Education and Schools, Shelter, and Infrastructure) ranging from humanitarian emergency response and early recovery to longer term community development. Over the years I have engaged with community volunteers, village leaders, CBOs, local authorities, District Government, local and international NGOs, UN agencies, sector coordination bodies, academic institutions, and donors (institutional and private). Alongside this, I have provided tutoring and examiner support to WASH distance learning students and created/updated associated training materials. My desire is to help support individuals, organisations, institutions, and local bodies to apply appropriate technologies and recognized national and international standards, according to their means and capacity, and where possible to go beyond them. Focused on sustainability, with expertise at all stages of project development, from assessment through planning and implementation to post-project evaluation, and responsibility for technical quality, training, research, and innovation.
