About Colin Murphy

With over 16 years of experience in the research and testing industry and 7 of those in GXP regulated environments, I am a passionate and results-oriented Operational Excellence Manager at Element Materials Technology, a global leader in contract testing, inspection, and certification services. My mission is to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across 19 laboratories in North America, using my skills in lean concepts, root cause analysis, data extraction and metrics generation, and quality management systems (QMS). With my proven ability to train and coach teams to be their very best. I have a strong background in chemistry, with a Ph.D. from Tufts University and a Bachelor's Degree from Cork Institute of Technology, as well as multiple honors and certifications. My research in plasmonic nanoparticles, catalyst and synthetic molecular machinery have been published in prestigious journals such as Nature Nanotechnology and Physical Review Letters. I also have skills in pricing strategy, financial modeling, and financial analysis, which enable me to support management in quality and business decisions. I am always eager to learn new technologies and methods, and to collaborate with diverse and talented teams.
