About Colin Oliver

I founded Produco in 2016, seeing the need for senior food safety leadership and regulatory guidance in the food and dairy industries. I gained extensive experience across New Zealand’s regulatory environment including NZ Standards Development, Regulatory Interpretation, Market Access and Official Assurance Specification Implementation through my previous roles working for New Zealand’s leading dairy companies. I’m passionate about building great teams and giving people opportunities to grow and expand their careers. I’ve led and driven highly engaged and dynamic teams and evidence of this is seen by achieving scores >4.5 Gallup Engagement survey over consecutive years. A Farmer's son, knowledge of the Dairy/Food/FMCG end-to-end supply chain is considerable, including on-farm impacts. I also relish the challenge of creating quality solutions to ensure compliance while adding value and opportunities to continually improve. FOOD SAFETY CULTURE LEADERSHIP I'm passionate about working with companies to build up a strong food safety culture, where its people are knowledgeable, competent and empowered to act. Through my ability to coach and guide senior management, I help companies to lead with a top-down approach and demonstrate to their staff and customers that making safe food is a driving principle around everything they do. COACHING Using my extensive coaching experience and technical knowledge to facilitate people’s professional development, I firmly believe that when people understand what they are passionate about, this leads to both individual and business success. When people are empowered, they take ownership, responsibility and accountability for their thoughts, actions and words. I coach and develop people to work to become leaders and role-models in the capacity they desire to operate in. REGULATORY INTERPRETATION Produco consultants have extensive knowledge of the regulatory environment across multiple industries including Dairy, Food, Meat, Seafood and Honey industries, as well as Medicinal Cannabis regulations. We're skilled at writing and developing Risk Management Plans and Food Control Plans, working with your business to ensure your products are compliant with all domestic and export requirements. CHANGE MANAGEMENT I'm experienced working with senior leaders to plan and initiate organizational change at a strategic level. I'm comfortable working with teams and individuals to engage them in the change process and help them to understand the why, then create a plan to move forward.
