About Colin Pearson

Colin is a credit analyst with current specialism in Social Housing, a sector facing credit negative pressures with Banks sector exposure of £10bn. Colin’s skill set encompasses credit risk, relationship building and team management. Key responsibilities include independent financial and non financial analysis of proposals in order to submit a succinct, robust and logical report for sanctioner consideration, highlighting the key risks and suitable mitigants with a recommendation. Typical transactions have exposures of between £50m – £1bn and some of Colin’s achievements have been increases for existing customers and new lends for new to bank customers. This is in addition to dealing with the credit challenges of the existing portfolio. Colin has a keen interest on the sector and in order to maintain a sound knowledge and sector expertise undertakes research using sector press, professional contacts, credit rating agencies and attending conferences. Colin has played a key role in delivering workflow not only with an individual contribution but driving and managing the wider social housing team to deliver to deadlines. Colin’s 15 year banking career covers experience in the retail arm, specifically residential mortgages from both a credit and frontline perspective to the commercial arm in risk principially in corporate real estate and more recently Social Housing. During this time Colin has enjoyed expanding his knowledging and sharing with others through coaching and support.
