About Colin Scott

Assistant Professor at Concordia University's Department of Political Science, my research examines social cohesion, migrant integration, and democratic citizenship. I also work to advance the application of social and behavioural sciences to public policy and public administration by supporting innovative, evidence-based policy analysis, program evaluation, and communication initiatives. I consult for clients in government and civil society, both in Canada and Guatemala, interested in social, political and community development, public sector innovation, program evaluation, and policy analysis. I received my Ph.D in political science from McGill University (2021) following Master's degrees in applied social psychology (University of Guelph) and political science (Memorial University of Newfoundland). Previously, I worked as a behavioural scientist in the Canadian federal government's Privy Council Office (PCO) and Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). I was a Visiting Scholar at Stony Brook University (2018) and before joining the faculty of Concordia University, I taught courses on research methodology at McGill University and the University of Manitoba.
