About Colin White

My work is not simply a job, it is a passion of mine. What I look for in a job is something that inspires and fulfills me in my everyday life. Without that I am not motivated. What inspires me as a person and as a worker is a company with an inspiring mission that allows me to use my creativity to produce and enhance products, services, and content on behalf of the company and the customer. My bachelors degree in business administration allows me to analyze and understand what the company and customer is looking for, and apply it, ultimately boosting a company's sales. I was the first intern at Espiritu LLC in the summer of 2018. The internship was technically unpaid, but my first day on the job I sold ten shoes for them. My two bosses saw the value I added to their company, and I was able to negotiate a commission based sale: every shoe I sold after the first ten shoes, I earned ten percent. At that time we sold at outdoor markets and weekend food festivals, traffic was touch and go, but one day I managed to sell 40 shoes. The following summer I turned this internship in to a part time position where I continued to sell shoes on commission. What inspired me about Espiritu was their mission. They made premium huaraches on a fair trade deal with the Purhépecha community Michoacán Mexico. I saw them as a company trying to do good in the world and giving back to their workers and their community. I want to work for a company that does good in the world.
