About Colin Williams

I am a member of the Ward and Smith’s Trusts and Estates practice, where I work with individuals and families on a wide range of estate planning and fiduciary matters. My practice includes assisting clients with the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other planning documents to help preserve assets, minimize tax exposure, and achieve long-term goals. Before joining Ward and Smith full-time, I served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Michael J. Stading at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, where I assisted with legal research, analysis, and writing for appellate cases. Additionally, I interned at the Pitt County District Attorney's Office, where I performed legal research, organized case files, and observed criminal proceedings. I have a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction.
