About Colleen Brady

Thoughtful, compassionate, and professional educator seeking literacy development, research, or writing-intensive positions in the greater Seattle/Olympia/Tacoma Washington area. I am a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong writing skills. My academic background and teaching experience have equipped me with excellent time-management, collaboration, and organizational skills. Additionally, I am skilled in researching and synthesizing information, providing feedback, and coaching colleagues. Furthermore, I am a team player and excel in building positive relationships with others. About Me: I studied English Literature and biology at Boston College. I love to write, especially short stories and poetry. I am the recipient of the Dever Fellowship award and the Kelleher award for creative writing from the Boston College English Department and have published work in the Boston College literature and art journals. I hope to share my expertise and show students the power literature and writing can have both personally and academically. I’m passionate about community building and helping children grow and discover their talents, passions, and identity in life. After graduating, I worked in education and ministry for marginalized youth and am excited to share that experience with others. I currently work at DCPS, where I enjoy planning creative, interactive lessons that are differentiated to suit student needs. I also am gaining expertise in educational technologies as distance learning is affecting schools around the world.
