About Colleen Kellison

With almost 10 years in Emergency Medical Services, I have had the privilege to obtain invaluable knowledge about prehospital medicine, healthcare, and disparities within healthcare. In my practice as a paramedic I am passionate about not only ensuring the highest quality care for all patients in the prehospital setting, but also aiming to create space for prehospital providers to play an active role in furthering education. I believe through research, continuing education and collaborative efforts amongst healthcare providers, we may generate more opportunities in our field and collectively create a safe and inclusive healthcare system for patients of all ages, races, gender identities and socioeconomic backgrounds. I also have a keen passion for maternal health and am a Birth Doula. I have experience in Sub-Sarahan Africa doing labor and delivery, as well as experiences with birth in the prehospital setting. I am profoundly interested in addressing the maternal mortality rate in the United States, as well as ensuring accessibility to prenatal care and resources for birthing people of all races and social classes.
