About Colleen R. Baker

A visionary nurse educator, with an accomplished career that combines 18 years of clinical practice, teaching, and mentoring. Certified as a Hospice and Palliative Nurse, Colleen serves as Director of Staff and Community Engagement with Anchor Health, LLC. Since, 2012, she has served as past Programming Chair and President of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, the largest HPNA Chapter in the country. Throughout her career, Colleen continues to expand the science of nursing through education while influencing the professional practice and the public image of nursing. An inspirational speaker with a savvy communication style, Colleen uses principles learned through years of bedside nursing, storytelling, and life experience to connect with and inspire others. She has presented at numerous conferences, universities, and world-renowned medical centers and has been featured on radio, podcasts, and in publications. A lifelong learner, Colleen earned a BSN at St. Mary’s College and Samuel Merritt University and maintains a public health nursing license. She is certified as an ELNEC Trainer, an advanced directive coach, and in Trauma and Somatic therapies. Additionally, Colleen is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing as a continuing education provider.
