About Collin Olson

Experienced Active Duty Sailor with a Secret security clearance, currently stationed onboard DDG 112 USS Michael Murphy. Skilled in maintaining and operating the Aegis Computer Network and Radar system, electronic cooling skids, and Cooperative Engagement Capability. With an end of active service date in August 2025, I have a proven track record of accomplishments. Notably, I successfully assisted in integrating Aegis and GCCS in a GCCS baseline upgrade. Additionally, I led readiness efforts for CEC during the ship's 2022 INSURV period, resulting in the Michael Murphy earning its first Battle Effectiveness award. During a challenging nine-month deployment in 5th Fleet, I diligently assisted over 800 trouble calls, ensuring smooth operations onboard. As an armed security watchstander, I stood over 250 hours of watch, prioritizing the safety of my shipmates and the ship. Furthermore, I played a crucial role in the safe transfer of 650 pallets of stores and nearly 5 million gallons of fuel as a deck line handler. Additionally, I demonstrated my commitment to security by standing vigilant watch as a Network Technician watchstander during 10 Bab el-Mandeb and eight Strait of Hormuz transits. Lastly, I hold the position of administrator for divisional crypto keys, showcasing my attention to detail and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information. I am now seeking new opportunities to leverage my skills and experience in a challenging and rewarding role.
