About Collin Scherbert

My professional goals have always centered on helping people achieve their dreams. This passion started at UW-Madison where I imagined becoming a consulting forester; hoping that I could some day help the land owners of Wisconsin get the most out of their forests. Despite my best intentions I was never able to make it into the forestry profession. However, the amount of experience I have gained from other jobs in analyzing difficult problems and learning to communicate effectively with clients has proved beneficial over the years. Returning to school and joining the IT profession as a web developer has reinvigorated my professional ambitions. The driving tempo with which technology changes means there will always be exciting new skills to master and problems to solve. I feel that I am at my best when working side by side with clients or business stakeholders to understand the subtle nuances that make their project unique. It is the personal relationships that are forged during this process that inspire me and keep me looking forward in the face of challenges. I am grateful to be in a position where I can use my expertise for the benefit of others and help them realize their goals. Between 2017 and 2019 I have built applications in the engineering and manufacturing sectors using primarily the Microsoft stack, including C#.NET MVC and.NET Core, Entity Framework, SQL Server, and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery. These projects have had noticeable impacts on the quality of products that were manufactured and provided business leaders the tools they needed to make smart, informed decisions. As I move through the rest of my career I am excited to have such a noticeable impact in other industries as well.
