About Collin Young

I started the electrical trade at the age of 16 with the RAP program while still in high school, shortly after graduating I went back to work realizing it was the career and future I wanted to build. With 8 years in the trade and a Red Seal Journeyman ticket I've never really looked back. I've seen many sides of this very diverse trade and have found my home in Oil & Gas, and High Voltage utility service and construction. It has taken me all over Alberta, Northern BC, Saskatchewan, and now internationally in Africa The Experiences I've had and been able to be a part of have made me skilled and knowledgeable on how to handle; safety, changing work environments, working among diverse groups of people and heavy equipment, changing work scopes, general construction, hazardous locations, high voltages, and many others. I take pride in being one of the younger people among other supervisors, clients, foreman, and project managers. I've been looked at with hesitation however I strive to show that I as a younger person can bring a new outlook on the way things are done, while still respecting the people who have been in the industry for years. I enjoy being proven wrong and have a ton of interest in how things work and how things are done so I can learn and grow and become better rounded in the industrial field whatever the application.
