About Colm Colgan

I am an Office and Facilities Manager with a keen eye for detail. Always looking for improvements and better ways of working. These traits led me into the quality control with HP. Here I excelled in creating a better standard of quality control through streamlining the processes in place. Along with the team we helped decrease department Product Loss by 3.5% in 2 years. After 7 years of working in QC and picking up multiple skills along the way I moved into a Production role with Millward Brown. Under the mentorship of the Production Manager who was also a great friend to me, I gained the skills needed for a fast-paced Production Room. At that time, we were Xerox Irelands biggest customer outside of government buildings. After 2 years, I was then appointed Production Manager. Working with a small team we changed the Print Management, Field Operations and Field Devices process to come in line with the new technology that was being used at the time. With it been Irelands biggest market research company there was very little margin for error. I honed my skills and added to them in my time at as Production Manager with the help of some wonderful colleagues. Then the opportunity to apply for the Office and Facilities manager role. In this role I have thread new ground and discovered a passion for it. I have been involved in some office relocations and I Project Managed one involving 50 plus staff. Which was extremely memorable and one of the most enjoyable projects to worked on. The extremely fast pace and ever encroaching deadlines bring out the best in me as I thrive on progress and results. Another area which I really took to was the office admin and working with multiple teams. Productivity and efficiency are goals I strive for and which I believe makes a well-run office. We had a rather large account with our mobile and broadband provider but I felt we were not getting the level of service we were paying for. I was able to negotiate a new contract with a saving to company of 13k over 3 years. The main factor in having a well-run office is the people and the culture created. This is a massive part of my ethos which I try implement wherever possible. After the relocation of two Kantar Brands to a new building and merging onto the same floor. During the move the task of integrating the 2 teams was never far from the conversation. Through careful planning of events, industry and social alike. We became one large team that worked on some of the the same projects. Some amazing friendships were forged too. Working History Prior to Available On Request
