About Colton Losh

My healthcare career journey began in 2012 when I joined my local volunteer fire department and became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). It did not take long for me to fall more in love with emergency medicine and want to grow in the field. A few years later, I earned my certification as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT). Performing at an advanced level was exciting and educational, and transporting hundreds of patients to the Emergency Department (ED) made me curious about what happens after I drop them off. Thus, my interest in emergency nursing began. I transitioned from EMS to the ED as a technician, which afforded me the knowledge I will stand by as getting through my nursing program. Just before switching to the ED, I was finishing my bachelor's in Business Administration, and with my new career path, I finished that degree with a focus on Healthcare management. At this present time, I am a full-time ED nurse, I practice as an AEMT at my volunteer agency as often as I can, and I am a student at WGU working towards my MSN in nursing leadership. I found my career and love in public safety and emergency medicine. Within the next year, I hope to complete my Masters Degree and progress into a leadership role in the emergency department setting. When I am not working, I enjoy camping, spending time with family, traveling, and exploring the restaurant scene.
