About Concettina Cassa

Concettina Cassa is a distinguished expert in digital governance and ICT policies, with extensive experience in both the public and international sectors. She currently serves as Head of International Affairs at AgID and coordinates the Italian Internet Governance Forum (IGF). Representing the Italian government in key organizations such as the United Nations, the European Commission, ICANN, etc, she has played a pivotal role in shaping digital strategies, driving innovation projects, and advancing governance initiatives. As an IGF MAG member, appointed by the UN Secretary-General, she has actively contributed to high-level working groups on AI, IoT, and Big Data. She also serves as co-chair of the MAG Working Group on IGF Strengthening and Strategy, working to enhance IGF’s role in global digital governance. She has led major digital transformation projects for the Italian public administration and is a member of the AI mission established at AgID. With over a decade of experience in developing network infrastructures for the Italian government, she was instrumental in the implementation of RUPA and RIPA, while also spearheading capacity-building initiatives and efforts to bridge the digital divide. In the private sector, she spent more than ten years collaborating with leading companies such as Italtel, Olivetti, Lucent Technologies, and AT & T Bell Labs. An accomplished author of numerous publications on digital governance and policy, she is actively engaged in fostering cooperation between governments, businesses, and technical communities to promote a more open, inclusive, and secure Internet. She holds a degree in Computer Science and is fluent in English.
