About Conner Difalco

In my time with the analytics department at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, I have worked in several roles that have really helped me grow and develop. I began my career on the Government Programs Clinical Operations Analytics team where I worked primarily with Medicaid data. While I was there, I worked on all sorts of projects ranging from one-time data pulls for customers that knew what they wanted, to being on the forefront of a HEDIS vendor transition that took many months to work through. My time on the GPCOA team taught me many of the skills I have since refined, including introducing me to SAS, data reporting and the world of insurance in general. It also allowed me to prove to myself that I am a hard worker capable of tackling tasks of all shapes and sizes. I then transitioned out of a GP specific role and into a broader position as an analyst on the Data Services team. During that period I spent most of my time working on one-off reports for customers across all lines of business. I also spent a fair amount of time introducing many of my colleagues to the ins and outs of Medicaid reporting as one of the few members of the team that had any prior experience in that line of work. I value my time on the Data Services team because I enjoyed the back and forth with my coworkers teaching each other about areas that we had little to no experience in prior. My next stop and where I currently reside was our Platform team within Analytics. My role here consists mostly of developing, testing, and enhancing data sources for the rest of the department to use in their roles. One of the larger projects I have worked on has been managing, maintaining and improving a process revolving around COVID-19 vaccinations. In an effort to improve the process I even learned a little bit of Python, which I'm looking forward to applying in the future. I have learned a lot in my time with Horizon, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to grow with the company. Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile!
