About Conner Thomas

In late 2015 I received a job at Target as a cashier and guest service representative. As I gained more experience in customer service, and leadership, I moved up to the position of Guest service associate (GSA) in which I managed and lead the front end team with 3 other GSA's. This has taught me countless lessons on quality service for customers, how to handle complaints and compliments, and how to effectively lead a team. In August of 2017 I was granted the opportunity to promote into the security sector of Target. This has allowed me to learn to better observe the little things, to keep a cool head during high stress situations, as well as to make split second decisions that can affect the profitability of the store. I began working for Intermountain Healthcare as a security officer in August of 2018 in which I received additional training on hospital safety and security regulations and controls, taser certification, and continued to learn daily in this position during my time with Intermountain. I was granted the opportunity to be the swing shift security team lead in April of 2019. I was later laterally transferred to a position in a children's hospital within the Intermountain system which allowed me to gain new skills and perspectives on security and healthcare as it pertains to children and adolescents. In August of 2021 I made the major decision to shift my career away from private security and into the information technology sector. I successfully completed a desktop support technician program through Salt Lake Community College and am currently in the process of preparing for and completing my CompTIA A+ certification exam. In the spring of 2022 I provisionally graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and will receive my degree upon completion of my summer 2022 coursework.
