Over the past years, I’ve led and contributed to a range of impactful projects at the intersection of geospatial technology, AI, and environmental innovation. My work spans terrain modeling, forestry analytics, hazard detection, and intelligent automation. LiDAR Mapping & Surveying Transformed aerial mapping workflows using advanced LiDAR systems, delivering high-resolution terrain models and point cloud datasets. Developed calibration techniques to improve accuracy and streamline data collection across diverse environments. Forestry & Timber Resource Planning Applied drone-based LiDAR to estimate tree counts and wood volume for timber planning. Generated digital terrain models (DTMs) and spatial layers to support forest inventory, land analysis, and resource valuation. Hazard Detection & Safety Applications using UAV lidar Collaborated with national defense teams to develop real-time detection tools for landmines, dragon teeth, and razor wire using LiDAR and specialized imagery. Delivered annotated datasets and detection maps for mission planning and field validation. AI & Smart Detection Built semantic segmentation workflows for LiDAR point clouds to automate detection of wires, ground surfaces, and hazardous objects. Delivered trained models and detection outputs for integration into operational pipelines. Workflow Optimization & Tool Development Engineered custom scripts to clean and analyze LiDAR data, accelerating processing and improving data quality. Automated validation workflows and developed reusable MATLAB tools for vertical profile filtering, ground estimation, and point cloud alignment. Team Collaboration & Innovation Worked cross-functionally with engineering and research teams on projects, presented “RapidWire AI” at an internal hackathon, showcasing fast wire detection from noisy data. Delivered prototype workflows and performance benchmarks for future development.
