About Connor Guyton

I am passionate about words, data, food and people - the order changes by the day. I was a writer first, pursuing a degree in communication at 18 and starting work at a daily newspaper at 22. At 25, I found myself pursuing a second a degree - this time in food science. In my food science labs, I fell in love with data. I learned how much more powerful my words could be with numbers behind them. Today, I use these passions and learnings to help protein companies understand their consumers. These protein clients range from small meat packers and processors to one of the world's largest protein companies. Analyzing primary and secondary data sets, I create go-to-market strategies, competitive analyses, trend decks, insights reports and thought leadership pieces. In additional to primary quantitative and qualitative data, I utilize retail sales data from Circana (IRI) and Nielsen and data vendors like Mintel and Datassential. Ghostwriting thought leadership has also become an important aspect of my position. I regularly write data-based thought leadership editorials and blogs for the agency principals and other key stakeholders. I have also been tapped to create external presentation decks to share our research and insights to industry players. These presentations consistently receive high praise for conference organizers and attendees. In the future, I hope to continue to use these skills within the food industry.
