About Connor Long

I am nationally certified as a dog obedience trainer. I am in good standing with the AKC as a CGC evaluator. I have a bachelor's degree in Animal Health and Behavior. I have been working at Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue since 2022. I currently manage a team of 8 advocates that care for the dogs daily. I manage three programs within the organization. I work closely with the ED to manage the budget, lower costs, increase life saving, increase the quality of life for the dogs within our organization. I coordinate rescue partnerships, fosters, adoption events, spay/neuter schedules, and medical care of all of our dogs. We typically have between 90 and 100 dogs in our organization at any given time. I previously work at a high volume municipal animal shelter. I was responsible for assessing the behavior of every dog that entered the facility. I worked closely with the rescue coordinator to find rescue for the dogs and offered adoption counseling to potential adopters to ensure the dogs were going into appropriate homes. In a 4 year period of time I assessed well over dogs. I have been involved in rescue to some extent for over 15 years. I am a US Navy veteran. My time in the Navy taught me to be detail oriented, communicate effectively and efficiently, lead teams and projects, work as a member of a team, and stay committed to the task at hand. I can operate effectively in high stress environments and I enjoy rising up to new challenges.
