About Connor Paschke

As a Decommissioning and Dismantling Engineer, Connor is continuing his career in the field of Nuclear Energy. Through his current role at Orano, he has been working in nuclear industry projects related to decommissioning, dismantling and waste management. This has included work based at both Sellafield and Dounreay on a variety of projects, as well as on the tendering process for other external projects in the UK and on the ITER project based in France. His previous experience at the World Association of Nuclear Operators as first an intern and then in the role of Project Manager has given him a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, international environment at their office in Paris. In this role he dealt with projects dealing with diverse challenges such as Industry Analysis, Performance Indicators and Probabilistic Safety Analysis. For these projects he analysed data, produced technical reports and presented his results. He designed and created a Design Fundamentals Database which covered the main design and safety features of the fleet of nuclear power stations which WANO’s Paris Centre interacts with (around 150 reactors in all). Before this, he completed his Master in Nuclear Energy at Paris-Saclay University and KTH Stockholm with a specialisation in Nuclear Plant Design and received a Bachelor with Honours in Engineering for Sustainable Energy from the University of Edinburgh.
