Background
About Connor Swayne
A simple school project would introduce me to my passion and soon-to-be career. We were told to create a small commercial advertising a book we had read. My first edit was made on Windows Movie Maker and it was the first step on a long and fulfilling journey. I began to watch movies and TV shows with a more critical eye, dissecting each frame, each line, and every shot. To watch a movie wasn’t enough - I needed to know how they were made. At 13, I began to teach myself the Adobe Suite: Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects. My time at MLink Technologies allowed me to begin to dip my toes into the vast ocean of video editing. Though the projects seemed challenging at the time, ever-changing technological advancements have allowed me to hone my craft. I now have over 14 years of experience in editing under the Adobe umbrella. In 2017, I took the first steps to turn my passion into a career and enrolled in MediaTech Institute. There, I learned all the practical applications of film and video while being tested on the history of the industry. Shortly after graduating, I had the honor of attending my own directorial debut with “Rise of the Teutonic,” which was my senior project at the college. The Director of Career Services went so far as to call me one of MediaTech’s “most illustrious alumni.” After graduating, I immediately started my professional career at MLink Technologies as the head of the studio, filming live action videos and even animation. Videography is more than a career to me. In my spare time, I work on passion projects to advance my skills not just as a cameraman, but as a cinematographer. I spent some time with a video production team called House of Sticks as their assistant video editor. For a time I worked as an editor and videographer for the Marketing Team at Empower Brokerage, helping insurance agents to better inform people about their health insurance options. Now I'm employed as an editor with Tinity Broadcast Network. My career with them started working in their news show "Centerpoint" where I would edit certain segments of their episodes as well as work personally with the show hosts on specific packages they'd written. After Centerpoint I was allowed to grow my editing skills with their other show "The Watchman", a series that focused on the historical and political importance of Israel and the relationship Christians hold with the people of the Holy Land. But it would eventually grow from a weekly show to a daily one known as "Stakelbeck Tonight".
