About Conor Abraham
As a Ph.D. Candidate in the Straub Group of the Chemistry Department (Division of Chemical Theory and Computation) at Boston University, I am exploring the biochemistry and biophysics of amyloid protein and fibril formation through the use of multiscale modeling. Over the course of my Ph.D, this has led me to explore:(1) the role of membrane composition and phase separation on BACE1 and ADAM10 — two proteins with critical roles in the amyloid cascades of Alzheimer's disease; and (2) the role of environmental factors, such as water and ligands, on the stability and polymorphism of serum amyloid A fibrils. In these studies, I have applied a variety of conventional molecular dynamics and enhanced sampling methods based on all-atom and coarse-grained force fields. ORCID: GitHub: conor-b-abraham
