About Conor Callahan

Conor Callahan (he/him), creator, director, editor, and storyteller, received his BFA in editing and sound design from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts-School of Filmmaking. A resilient and hardworking filmmaker, Conor is not afraid to do what it takes to bring the art of storytelling to life in multiple mediums. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Conor’s interest in storytelling and the use of a camera to capture his stories, are true products of his reading and writing disability diagnosed at the early age of 5. Developing strategies to survive in academic environments and to be accepted amongst his peers, Conor gravitated toward visual entertainment and imagination. Developing a love for filmmaking, some of Conor’s earliest pieces were used as a means to express himself and communicate with others. A true fan of the Star Wars saga, Conor was first introduced to the creative worlds of George Lucas at a very young age. Captivated by the tragedies and triumphs of the Skywalker Saga, George Lucas was an immediate inspiration and nurturance for Conor’s pursuit of filmmaking, first as a passion and then a professional pursuit. Conor’s first public, directorial debut was a commissioned documentary on food scarcity in South Florida for the Palm Beach Food Bank. The documentary premiered with great acclaim at a charity event, Empty Bowls, in 2016. Conor was a junior in high school. While a student at UNCSA, Conor wrote, directed, and edited numerous student short films and is currently completing his first 3D animation motion capture film as he pursues an interest in immersive storytelling. As a true collaborator, Conor is also credited with working in various positions for numerous outside and inside school film projects including one that has reached film festivals around the country, BUZZ KILL. With the drive, commitment and creative energy to continue to direct and edit films professionally, Conor is skilled in various editing softwares including Avid, and Premier Pro. He is also familiar with UNREAL and pursuing new technologies in the field of immersive arts including story development for virtual reality. Hardworking and determined to continue to pursue his passion for storytelling, Conor’s resilience and grit, without ego, continues to propel him towards success as both an artist and filmmaker.
