About Conor Hoey

Conor leads the Aviation Business for Arup in Europe and is also a member of the Arup Global Aviation Executive. Having spent over 25 years in this industry, he has deep insight into the needs and demands of the Aviation Industry and the significant challenges that lay ahead to meet and exceed the Net Zero Industry Commitments required by 2050. Airports are facing continual challenges to balance the need to meet the growing capacity demands whilst always seeking to improve the passenger experience, creating a continual drive for enhanced efficiency of the key touch points, from the kerb to the aircraft all whilst decarbonising airport operations. Digital technologies, Airport 4.0, big data and social media have become key enablers and drivers of airports’ experiential service offering. Statutory and regulatory changes continue to be particularly onerous and environmental and sustainability considerations must be moved to the forefront of dialogue. Conor works very closely with the industry to harness the opportunities presented by these and other rapidly changing elements. An airport is the economic driver of a commercial ecosystem, integrated with the local community and by understanding the impacts of the airport on all aspects of the connected environment, it forms a key element of urban transportation strategy. As Aviation Business Leader, Conor uses his experience, to drive the growth and development of the Arup aviation business in Europe and Globally. His primary focus is managing the relationships with our partners in the region and elevating the visibility of our business to promote the growing range of services we can bring to our aviation clients. Arup have a strong pedigree in the Aviation industry globally and, having completed projects in over 120 different airports over the past five years, we have a wealth of experience we can draw on to support our European business.
