About Conor McDermott
It's hard to embody my philosophy on life better than "Are you the man you want your son to be?". It gracefully combines an innate desire to uncover the corners of my consciousness, but also the importance in developing the skills to pass this light along to the next generation. With 5 years of professional engineering experience in environments ranging from experimental aircrafts to quantumly entangled particles, I have honed the ability to observe the objective. Although unbelievably fruitful, this pursuit of truth has proved to only be half the coin; the other being that of the subjective, the internal. Taking off the hat of "research engineer" at night to explore other realms of academia has begun to fill in the gaps of the scaffolds of science. Finding passion in philosophy, psychology, mentorship, and community has allowed me to grow in directions that scientific understanding could not. Recognizing that gap, the goal now is to integrate the two sides of this coin to reach the highest self-defined good possible, and to pass these lessons on to the minds of tomorrow.
