About Conor McElhinney
I've been working with new technologies trying to solve emerging problems for pretty much ten years now. If you ever work with what's become known as big data, you'll find that you have to be able to deal with the acquisition, storage, access, visualisation and processing of this data. After 6 years experience working with GB sized hologram data and 5 years of experience working with TB sized laser scanning data means I'm pretty certain I know my way around coming up with complete solutions no one else has tackled before. I've got a first class honours degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering, a PhD in Computer Science and Optics, graduated two of my own PhD students and I've over 40 publications including a book chapter and multiple journal papers. I'm not all work, I love being active outside of work too and am happy to participate or compete in any activity or sport, sometimes collecting the odd trophy or medal
