I am a software engineer at Dell Technologies in Cork. I'm originally from Wexford, but moved to Cork for college. In Wexford I sat my leaving cert at Wexford CBS. In my college course (Computer Science), I learned about various technologies and practices that are valuable to know about it a workplace. A module on Software Engineering was a good introduction to the software development process. The course also strongly covers programming, primarily in python, however languages such as Java and C# are also covered.My time at Dell EMC as an intern was a fantastic insight to an efficient and productive software development environment. My internship required me to get involved with new technologies such as Docker and Pivotal Cloud Foundry. I also got the chance to further develop skills from college, and apply them to the workplace.
