About Conor Siddy

A dedicated and driven graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng Hons) from Sheffield Hallam University, including a year of industrial experience at Schaeffler UK Ltd as a Maintenance Engineer. Currently working at Trent Design and Engineering Ltd as an Assistant Engineer.During my degree I completed projects which involved analysing mechanical systems from the design stage to completion, considering a variety of potential solutions to complex engineering problems while adhering to good engineering practice. Many of these projects were conducted as a team and required creating design specifications as a group and forming technical reports throughout. In my dissertation titled ‘Improving the performance characteristics of a turbocharger’ I effectively used Computational Fluid Dynamics to continuously improve on an impeller blade design reaching a challenging design specification, demonstrating an ability to analyse technical data and utilise it to drive improvements.During my placement I acquired skills which are essential for successfully completing technical projects based on implementing and expanding on preventative maintenance practices in a production environment. I also developed skills as an effective problem solver regarding mechanical and electrical systems.
