About Conrad D Gleber

My clinical role is a Hospitalist at URMC for half my time. The other half is as Associate Chief Medical Information Officer.I'm also Associate Director of URMC's Innovation Incubator the "UR Health Lab"Highlighted Current Projects:Augmentation of Clinical Workflows with Large Language Models (LLMS)I am working with the Health Lab at URMC to develop workflows that directly integrate large language models. The first main targets revolve around text classification of messages received by clinicians. The Secure Message project will use LLMs to classify text to various levels of priority for better triage time for urgent messages. Future projects include using generative LLMs to create patient messages, answers to common clinical questions, and facilitate documentation.Large Language Models and Clinical DiagnosisI am also working to fine-tune large Language models to facilitate diagnosis support for inpatient clinicians. There is a world of opportunity in this space. Our focus is around diagnostic risk stratification, clinical feature extraction, and LLMs acting as an "AI second opinion."Professional Background per URMC Bio:Dr. Conrad Gleber obtained his undergraduate education at Florida State University, where he pursued research centered on biochemical engineering and therapeutic synergies. This led him to New York City where he worked at Rockefeller University in the Department of Genetically Encoded Small Molecules. He then pivoted from primarily research into medicine. He attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo, completing a combined MD/MBA program. Dr. Gleber moved to Rochester for his residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Conrad has special interest in the quality improvement, health systems management and healthcare delivery, with the goal to bring high value care to our system and high quality care to all our patients.
