I've spent the better part of 20 years running retail operations — the kind where the numbers matter, the people matter more, and something unexpected happens every week.My most formative stretch was at Alshaya Group, where I led operations across 90 stores in 8 countries as Operations Director. Managing that kind of footprint — different markets, different teams, different customer expectations — taught me things that no classroom gets close to. We grew revenue significantly during that period, and I'm proud of how we did it: by getting the fundamentals right and building teams that actually wanted to perform.Before the Middle East, I spent close to a decade in South Africa leading retail operations at a national level, working across concession models with the likes of Pick n Pay and Walmart, and getting into e-commerce earlier than most in our space.I'm back in South Africa now and looking for a Retail Director role where I can put all of that to work. I tend to thrive in environments that are growing fast, going through change, or just need someone who'll take the operation seriously and bring others along with them.
