About Constance Tan-Widjaja

I first started working when I was living in Sydney, Australia. Moving to New Zealand, I completed my high school education before moving on to study at University of Auckland gaining a Bachelor Degree in Biological Science and then a Post Graduate Diploma in Forensic Science.During my time in New Zealand, I began working at Crowne Plaza Auckland Hotel as a member of its Food and Beverage Department. During my time there I gained valuable experience in customer service/management (dealing with a range of customers and employees from all different walks of life), critical thinking, time management and other skills involved in the day-to-day running of my area.A one-year student internship at Douglas Manufacturing followed. I was part of the QC Microbiology team before moving on to be part of the company's Validation team. My responsibilities ranged from sample receipt, media preparation, sterilisation process and routine testing as well as document-based tasks (e.g. results sheet entry (Microbiology) and uploading documentation into new database as well as organising documents to be archived and stored away (Validation)). Throughout this internship I also had the chance to learn and gained knowledge about GDP, GLP and GMP processes.Other areas that I have been fortunate to work in includes the Administration area (Reception), Packing and the LIMS Implementation Project team.My role as a Quality Control Documentation Specialist focused on the management and maintenance of laboratory documents. I was also fortunate enough to be part of the eQMS Implementation Project Team and am currently on a 12 month-secondment as a Quality Management System Specialist.I enjoy learning new things and, in the future, I hope to be able to have the opportunities to gain new knowledge and continue growing both personally and professionally.
