About Constanza Petersen

I am a community development worker with over seven years of experience in education, social work, youth work and community development. I hold two master's degrees in education, with the latest degree focusing on adult education, community development, and youth work. I am passionate about empowering people to collectively bring about positive change and justice in their local communities. At Crossroads Youth and Community Association, a charity that aims to improve the quality of life and opportunities for people in the south of Glasgow, I assist community members to identify their needs and opportunities, and plan, organize, and encourage social action. I also evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the action, and network and support partners to deliver their services and activities in the local community. I have developed strong skills in active listening, interpersonal communication, collaboration, and facilitation, as well as a deep understanding of the issues and challenges faced by diverse and marginalized groups. I am proud to be part of a team that builds social networks and social capital, engenders a sense of belonging and wellbeing, and enables community influence and control.
