About Consuela Nance

Spearheaded the Patient Navigator Program within the Hematology/Oncology Santa Monica clinic, overseeing a team of patient navigators. She leads the team in keeping their skills and knowledge current and assumes responsibility for the team. The Patient Navigator Program is unique. They are in direct face-to-face contact with the patients and their families during the most trying times of their lives. They are the team that the physicians, the nurse practitioners, the infusion RNs, the PCC and the front desk call when patients are in distress regarding non-clinical matters. When patients are having difficulty navigating the clinic or sometimes-ancillary clinics throughout the UCLA Health system. She and her team are called upon for assistance in fixing issues and resolving non clinical crisis. The program has grown and continues to grow into a rare, extremely successful program currently only available in the Santa Monica oncology clinic. Her experience, professionalism, creativity, empathy, open mindedness, innovative and revolutionary thinking has resulted and continues to result in favorable outcomes and successful resolutions for many of the patients, under her leadership. She has also received a CICARE award for excellence in patient care at UCLA. Currently supporting patients in the Office of the Patient Experience and part of the Equitable Care Committee and the Aesthetics Committee.
