About Cooper Powell
When I was 19, I decided that I wanted to learn about investing and business, so I looked up “investing books” online. The first book to pop up was Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Obviously, this book blew my mind which made me want to read another book. The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. Once again, my mind was blown, and I became determined to learn and grow. It was during this time that I was approached about Door-to-Door sales and a summer sales program. I had never considered sales as an option and at first it was too scary to consider. Door to door? Yeah, thanks but no thanks. After some time had passed though, I considered “what if” and I asked myself why I felt the way I did. It was a decision made from a place of fear. If I wanted to grow, if I wanted to be successful, I couldn’t dismiss opportunity because I was scared. I decided to take the internship. Upon arrival for that first summer, I met 20 other college students, all of whom expressed the same entrepreneurial, business-oriented ideals that I did. I trained with them, competed with them, and befriended them as we all went after our summer goals and bigger picture aspirations. I met some of my best friends that summer. As a first-year intern I produced in revenue, which ranked me 2nd on our team of 20, and 4th in a company of 200. My second summer I trained and led a small team of 2 first year interns from Ohio State University. They were relentless, consistent, and coachable which is a deadly combination for individuals wanting to learn sales. Between the 2 of them, they produced worth in revenue. This was enough to rank them #1 and #2 out of 25 rookie interns. Seeing the progress they made in their communication skills, personability, and sales knowledge makes me incredibly proud to be their coach and leader. Personally, I produced which puts our team total just shy of in sales. The same guys from my rookie summer also came out and brought their own teams. As a branch of 35 individuals, we produced in revenue, a number we want to crush in the summer of 2023. Our summer sales program is powerful. The number of sales principles that I have learned is astronomically more than I ever could’ve imagined. I’ve had the opportunity to put these concepts into practice, making it a lifelong skill and trait that I now carry. The most rewarding aspect of my job though, is getting to teach to those wanting to wield the skill as well. Hiring for the summer of 2023.
