About Cooper Westerkamp

With over 13 years of leadership experience in various service industries, I am a quality assurance and infection prevention manager at BHcare, a nonprofit community behavioral healthcare organization. I have a master's degree in organizational leadership, focusing on healthcare management and strategic leadership.I am passionate about improving health outcomes and safety standards for clients and staff, especially during the pandemic. I successfully navigated the IPC program out of the public health emergency and oversaw the safe and effective decreased mitigation strategies across the organization. I also transitioned into a newly created role, increasing my responsibilities and quality-based projects. I have extensive knowledge and experience in surveillance, case tracking, outbreak identification, contact tracing, client and staff education, and policy development for various communicable illnesses and risk factors.In my new role, I look forward to increasing quality measures for clients and staff across the organization. I also serve as the organization's Client Rights Officer, advocating for clients and investigating complaints and grievances. I also serve as a Co-chair of a culture change management project, which provides me the opportunity to diagnose, assess, and implement lasting change to create a just culture. I am a team player who collaborates with all stakeholders, communicates effectively, openly accepts new responsibilities and challenges to grow, and leads with emotional intelligence.
