About Cora Garcellano

I started my professional career as a MICU nurse and later cross trained into Emergency Department nursing. For almost 3years, I worked simultaneously as an ICU and ED nurse. After 3 years of ICU, ED nursing at one facility, I worked extra shifts as an agency nurse in NJ. Agency nursing allowed for more experience in all areas of intensive care nursing. I floated to surgical, cardiac, neurological, cardiothoracic, and medical ICU, as well as get exposure outside of the ICU environment. I found myself in step down, telemetry, outpatient, medical-surgical, and ALTEC facilities throughout NJ, specifically central and northern NJ. I later pursued travel nursing for 2 years in California, while working contract agency nursing when I would come back home to NJ. I find myself rooted in the east coast as a full time clinical nurse in NYP's Columbia University Medical Center, MICU where we specialize mostly in ECMO for ARDS, pre-transplant, and proning along with our standard multi organ failure cases, GIB, sepsis, Vent weaning.
