Experience includes work in county positions: in a prosecutor’s office as a legal assistant, and administratively, overseeing a federal program. Additionally, telephone counselor for a crisis intervention center, the American Red Cross’ military hotline, and a television ministry prayer hotline. More recent employment for a major communications company involved handling business accounts, disgruntled consumers in customer billing support as well as technical assistance. Most recently employed by the IRS coding and editing returns. Educationally, undergraduate work focused on Social Science and Special Education, Law school studies included Law & Medicine, and regulatory torts, enabling familiarity with the legal concepts involved in legislative initiatives. Governmental studies specialized in Health Care and Public Policy, enabling comprehension of Medicaid/Medicare regulatory schemes. Most recent learning included training as a Community Healthcare Worker, then how to train Community Healthcare Workers. Now completing doctoral studies in Education and Organizational Psychology with emphasis in Behavioral Health. It is my desire to do work that integrates my varied work and academic skills in serving individuals with disabilities or other disadvantaged populations whether in an educational, vocational, administrative, or research capacity. I am myself differently-abled and have ambulated by wheelchair for half of my life enabling awareness and empathy of disability-related issues.
