Background

About Corbin Anderson

I am currently a student at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Informatics with a cognate and minor in Web Development & Design and a minor in Human-Centered Computing. I am passionate about using technology to make a positive impact in the world, specifically expanding web applications to be accessible and user friendly to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. I have developed a couple notable web applications to demonstrate my technical skills and creativity. For example, I built a hypothetical restaurant application using Python, Flask, Bootstrap and SQL, as well as a hypothetical auto repair shop application using JavaScript, NodeJS, ExpressJS, CSS and SQL. In both projects I displayed my ability to use routing, dynamically display data, and apply CRUD database techniques. I am team-oriented and enjoy solving problems by thinking outside the box, listening to others ideas and engaging in collaboration. My communication skills allow me to speak up with new ideas and make sure everyone feels comfortable when sharing their thoughts and opinions. While I don't have professional experience in the field yet, I am actively seeking an internship to further develop my skills and experience. In my career, I aspire using web development to help people by making technology and information more accessible to everyone. My dream is to one day establish a web development school or certificate program for teens and young adults who may be from underprivileged communities or may not have the resources to attend college. I believe everyone deserves access to education and opportunities in the tech industry.
