My Seven Years in the Building Automation Industry As someone who has worked in the building automation industry for seven going on eight years, I have seen firsthand the many ways in which technology is transforming the way we design, build, and manage buildings. During my time in the industry, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from designing and commissioning new building automation systems to retrofitting existing buildings with the latest smart building technologies. One of the biggest changes I have witnessed over the past five years is the growing emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability. Building owners and operators are increasingly looking for ways to reduce energy consumption and minimize their carbon footprint, and building automation systems are playing a critical role in this effort. By using sensors, data analytics, and machine learning algorithms, these systems can optimize building operations in real-time, reducing energy waste and improving occupant comfort.
