At CAL Sports Academy, we believe that boys and girls who enjoy the game and want to excel must dedicate themselves to learning and mastering the fundamentals. At all levels, from beginner to professional, the ability to consistently execute the fundamentals at game speed is what determines a player’s individual success, and ultimately, enhances their enjoyment of the game. Over the past 10 years, and more recently, we’ve are beginning to see more and more players who are missing many of the key fundamentals necessary to be highly successful. At the youth levels, so little time is spent on teaching basic fundamentals and the reality is that a couple hours of practice and 1-2 games a week for a few months out of the year is not necessarily the best formula for future basketball success. One of our primary goals is to raise the entire level of play for youth to high school players in the area by providing a fun, challenging, organized and yet creative, individual and team development program. There are many good club basketball programs that try to recruit the best talent and then head directly in to competition. We feel that CAL Sports Academy not only provides great competitive opportunities for all players, it also provides much needed year-round development for players of all levels, ultimately leading to long-term success that prepares them to play for any coach at any level.
