An EMT with further certification specializing in End of Life/Palliative care, Addiction/Recovery and Behavioral health. Passionate about Geriatric medicine and Thanatology. As a death doula it is a privilege to be a supportive partner at the bedside of a patient at the end of life. To help them through the toughest part of their life, to listen, learn, and share their experiences. To match their energy and create a meaningful experience for the both of us. To help them have a "good death" however that looks to them. Be present, understanding and respectful. I have lost many, too many, too young. My life experience has brought me to become a death doula. My job with Gather Health helped me gain the experience within Geriatric medicine. At Gather Health I have given my all to helping complex patients have better health outcomes by managing their care closely with their PCP through MIH community paramedicine. I strive to form a trusting and meaningful connection with my patients. Working with an under served population that struggles with isolation and depression. Isolation and lonliness leads to depression, heart disease, cognitive decline and will end up taking the lives of seniors much sooner. Gather Healths model is to break down the barriers to health and wellness.To keep seniors out of the hospital and keep them engaged. This is how health care should be and in our current society we are falling further away day by day. In a broken healthcare system I am working besides individuals that want to fix it at and sometimes it takes small change and motivation to glue it back together in hopes for a more promising future.
