About Corey Bell

With over 20 years experience in Business, Sport and Government sectors, Corey is the General Manager of Partnerships and Commercial - International for Sports Marketing Australia / Sports Marketing International. In his role at SMA / SMI, Corey is responsible for partnerships and the commercialisation of Sport Events and the attraction Elite High Performance Sport Camps and Events to destinations and regions, with a focus across Queensland, Australia, New Zealand and Internationally across the world that includes UK, Europe and Asia. Corey's has the ability to achieve commercial outcomes from his extensive experience across many industry sectors, his vast network and his knowledge of sport from all angles of being an athlete and administrator of sport, which is a rare commodity. On the sporting field Corey has also had a significant impact at the highest level of sport, playing in the AFL at the very young age of 18, where he was one of the youngest players to ever play for the Brisbane (Bears) now Lions over 3 seasons and has had success in Touch Football winning multiple National Championship titles at the NTL's from 2020 - 2023. More recently in 2024, he was selected as the Captain of the Australian AFL Masters International Rules team (AFL & Gaelic Football) who toured and played Ireland and in the UK across a 3 game International series. Outside of work Corey is passionate about the Community and the Gold Coast where for the past 15 years where he has sat on the Board as Vice Chairman of the Gold Coast Community Fund, one of the Gold Coast's most prominent charities that assists raising money for those Gold Coasters in need. In his time on the board, over $5 million dollars has been raised and distributed to Gold Coast individuals, families and charities in need. In Corey was awarded the prestigious Australian Sports Medal for his achievements and service to both Sport and the Community, was named the inaugural Gold Coast SUNS Staff Member of the Year in 2011 and hold's a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in both Sports Management and Sports Science from Griffith University.
