About Corey Coons

Corey Coons is currently employed with SGI Canada as a Construction Specialist. In this position he leverages his construction knowledge to create rebuild scopes and the determine the cause of major losses. In addition to this he is a part-owner and operator of CSquared Innovations which provides modular floating systems to residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Previously, Corey spent 9 years in the heavy industrial construction industry. Some of the positions held during this time were Estimator, Project Manager, Engineering Manager and Senior Estimator. A few notable projects that he worked on are as follows; PCS Cory Red Product Expansion, CRC Section V and Revamp, BDPS Carbon Capture Project, and the Agrium VAULT Project. Prior and during his work in the heavy industrial industry, Corey built, moved and renovated residential homes. This includes working for several companies and completing nearly all disciplines of his own house, garage and shop. Corey holds a Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma, a Applied Science and Technologist designation (A.Sc.T.), a Project Management Professional designation (PMP), a Certificate in Commercial and Residential Roof Inspections, and a Certificate in Thermography. For pleasure, Corey enjoys inventing, designing and building in his shop. He is currently working on a vertical axis wind turbine and a smokeless firepit. Corey finished a Bachelor of Construction Management Degree in 2021. He hopes that successful completion of the Bachelor of Construction Management program will enable him to further advance his position in a construction-related field.
