About Corey Davis

Ever since I was young, I have always been fascinated with how the world worked. How airplanes fly, why the leaves on trees change color, how microphones work, even how microwaves heat food. The world was full of mysteries that I wanted to understand. It wasn't until I grew older where I began to learn how math and science played a part in how machines, and the whole world, operates. It was then I decided I wanted to pursue a career that learned advanced math and science skills and combined them with critical thinking to solve real world problems.Skipping ahead to the present, I am currently working as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Buro Happold. I have enhanced my skills in school by learning complex math, as well as becoming proficient with different programs such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, and Excel. Using that foundational knowledge, I am able to better understand and apply industry programs such as Revit. I have built purposeful relationships with my peers and mentors, while also finding new connections through past college clubs, such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Cru Student Ministries.My passion for engineering pushes me to do better. I have learned how to implement the engineering design process, navigate obstacles, and communicate with a team to overcome a common problem. I understand the value of asking for help, the quality of learning from your mistakes, and the benefit of retaining a desire to learn. I want to understand how the world works, and Engineering is one of the best ways to do so.
