After enjoying almost a year at Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, my department was dissolved and 43% of department staff were laid off including myself and the department head. During my time there, I investigated over 60 process deviations and nonconformances occurring during injectable medication production. These investigations included root cause assessment, risk analysis, and mitigation planning. I also supervised 3 corrective action plans introducing additional process quality controls for 6 pharmaceutical products. Additionally, I developed a tool to track net units produced and losses incurred during manufacturing for the 5-7 medication lots produced each week. I am excited for new engineering challenges and look forward to contributing to similar process improvement projects moving forward.
