About Corey Kubbs

Living and learning by the mantra The BEST is Yet to Come, I believe Brotherhood, Energy, Selflessness, and Toughness are the cornerstones of program and player success. Setting expectations of players on the field and in the classroom is vital to setting the team on a course that not only yields desired wins but also develops the young men on the team to become leaders in life and in honoring Christ. Through a commitment to goal setting and targeted development, I work diligently to graduate all 4-year players who come through the program, recruit and retain exceptional student-athletes, cultivate a brand driven by competitive excellence, and lead the team in service to others. In each of my past roles—with MVNU, Ottawa University, Montreat College, and Oklahoma Wesleyan University—I have been regarded for bringing a highly organized, efficient, and structured approach to the development of pitchers and the entire team. Playing notable roles in achieving unprecedented records, recruiting top classes, and earning conference titles, I am incredibly proud of the work my student-athletes commit to in order to achieve incredible results. I am equally proud of the young men those same athletes became, their individualized walks with Christ, and the relationships we maintain to this day. My personal coaching philosophy facilitates my ability to develop and nurture relationships. I believe a head coach must be the same person day in and day out, the constant in an ever-changing program and world. I have learned to embrace my strengths—intensity, passion, organization, detail orientation, and perfectionism—and elicit the same level of authenticity and drive for excellence from my players. My student-athletes know I am striving for my BEST every day, that I can be counted on to lead with character and commitment, and will provide unwavering support to nurture their academic, spiritual, and athletic development. They know who they will see in the classroom and on the field, they know they will be respected and challenged, and they believe in the mantra The BEST is Yet to Come.
